Every Saturday, esf Valloire invites you to its welcome drink.

Join us outside the esf Resort Centre office from 5:30 pm for a warm and friendly gathering over a hot chocolate or mulled wine, accompanied by delicious local specialities.

It's the perfect opportunity to meet the esf team, discover the friendly atmosphere and get your stay in Valloire off to the best possible start!
Wednesdays during the February school holidays

Torchlit descent

Every Wednesday during the February school holidays, the esf Valloire instructors invite you to experience the magic of our traditional Torchlit Descent.

As night falls, children and adults come together to light up the mountain with their torches, creating a spectacular display in a warm and festive atmosphere. Share this unforgettable experience with family and friends in the heart of the resort.

Practical information:
Three torchlit descents are available, depending on your skiing level:
  • Kindergarten Descent: for Piou-Piou, Sifflote and Ourson levels (at the L'Ourson Children's Garden, Resort Centre)
  • Lutins Descent: for Flocon, 1ère Étoile and 2ème Étoile levels
  • Sétaz Descent: from 3ème Étoile level onwards (children and adults)
  • Booking: at any ESF office until the day before the event, or online when booking your lessons.
  • Price: €10 per person, including a flashing torch for younger children to keep as a souvenir.

Flèche and Chamois

Have you achieved your Étoile d'Or or are you already a confident skier looking for a new challenge?

Take on the clock in the Flèche and Chamois races and experience the excitement of alpine competition. Whether you're aiming to beat your personal best, compare your performance with other skiers or simply enjoy the thrill of racing, these timed events are the perfect way to put your skills to the test in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Information about the events:
  • The Flèche is a giant slalom race lasting approximately 40 seconds, featuring 20 to 35 gates and a vertical drop of 200 to 250 metres.
  • The Chamois is a slalom race lasting approximately 30 seconds, with 30 to 40 gates and a vertical drop of 120 to 200 metres.
  • Both events count towards the SkiOpen national skier rankings.

Practical information:
  • The race programme is displayed at the esf Resort Centre office. Events are generally held on Thursdays for the Flèche and Fridays for the Chamois, subject to weather and snow conditions.
  • Registration: at the esf Resort Centre office until 18:00 on the day before the event.
  • Entry fee: €9 per event (payable on site).
  • Medal: €9 (not included).

JB Cup 2026 – 16th edition

For the past 16 years, the JB Cup has brought together young alpine ski enthusiasts for a fun, friendly and competitive event. Organised by ESF Valloire, the competition is open to U8, U10 and U12 categories and features an exciting programme of slalom, giant slalom and super-G races.

Combining sporting performance, the joy of skiing and true club spirit, the JB Cup has become one of Valloire's must-attend end-of-season events.

Lift passes and conditions:

  • Competitors: children's lift pass included in the entry fee.
  • Accompanying adults (parents, etc.): €26.80 per person (Carré Neige not included) for the Galibier–Thabor ski area with unlimited access.
  • Pedestrians: €11 return ticket or 6 return trips for €55.
  • Ski club coaches: free on presentation of a valid instructors' card.

Lift Pass Offices
  • Friday: two ticket offices open from 17:00 to 19:00 in the Resort Centre.
  • Saturday: two ticket offices open from 07:00 at the Resort Centre Sales Office.
  • Saturday: one ticket office open from 07:00 at Les Verneys (opposite the bakery).
Sales Office: Avenue de la Vallée d'Or, opposite the Christiania Hotel.

Useful information

Race Number Collection
  • Friday: 5:30 pm –7:30 pm, outside the esf Resort Centre office, at the foot of the Brive gondola.
  • Competitors' ascent: from 08:00 am via the Sétaz gondola.

Please note: Pedestrians may access the mountain from 09:00 onwards, via the Sétaz gondola only.

Important:

  • By registering for the JB Cup, you authorise ESF Valloire, Valloire Tourisme and their partners to take photographs and/or videos of you or your child during the event.
  • You also authorise these images to be used, without compensation or time or geographical limitation, for promotional purposes, including printed publications, press, television, advertising, promotional videos, social media, websites and any current or future communication materials relating to the destination.

Please enter:
  • your ski club name next to the participant's surname;
  • your FFS licence number next to the participant's first name.
Race Format
  • U8: Two giant slalom runs (Saturday).
  • U10: One slalom run and one super-G run (Saturday).
  • U12: One slalom run and one super-G run (Saturday).

When booking, please select the week 28/03–04/04/2026 in the calendar for U8, U10 and U12 registrations.
